Carnaval du Cor


Alljährlich finden sich Hornbegeisterte (Laien, Experten, Studenten, Profis und alles, was Rang und Namen hat) in Süddeutschland für ein paar Tage zusammen, um ihre Aufmerksamkeit voll diesem ganz besonderen Instrument zu widmen.

Vom 21. bis 25. Februar 2020 findet die 27. Ausgabe des »Carnaval du Cor« in Pullach bei München statt. Europas größtes Hornfestival wartet, passend zur Nummer der Ausgabe, mit 27 Dozentinnen und Dozenten der Extraklasse auf, darunter z. B. Radek Baborák (special guest), Prof. Thomas Hauschild, Prof. Mahir Kalmik, Prof. Ab Koster, Andreas Kreuzhuber (jüngster Solohornist in der Geschichte der Bamberger Symphoniker), Johannes Lamotke (neu bei den Berliner Philharmonikern), Prof. Sybille Mahni, Jens Plücker (Solohorn NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchester) und viele weitere Stars der Hornszene.

Das Festival bleibt auf Wachstumskurs, ist seit Monaten ausgebucht und begeistert im nächsten Jahr 163 Hornistinnen und Hornisten aus aller Welt.

Zum Auftakt des Festivals gibt es am Freitag (21. Februar) um 16:00 Uhr einen gigantischen Horn-Flashmob auf dem Münchner Marienplatz, bei dem hornspielende Gäste kostenlos teilnehmen dürfen und wo auch Arrangements der Edition Maulwurf dargeboten werden.

Once a year a group of horn enthusiasts consisting of amateurs, professionals, experts, students and many solists of distinction is congragating in the south of germany to celebrate this unique musical instrument.

The 27th version of »Carnaval du Cor« will be held February 21 – 25, 2020
in Pullach near Munich. Fitting that number, europe’s biggest horn festival features 27 professors and instructors of phantastic quality: Radek Baborák (special guest), Prof. Thomas Hauschild, Prof. Mahir Kalmik, Prof. Ab Koster, Andreas Kreuzhuber (youngest principal horn of Bamberg Symphony ever), Johannes Lamotke (just new at Berlin Philharmonic), Prof. Sybille Mahni and Jens Plücker (principal horn of NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestra), to mention just a few.

The festival is still massively growing and is sold out months in beforehand, next year it will be a total of 163 hornists from all over the world.

The opening of the festival on friday, february 21st will be a gigantic Horn-Flashmob at 4 o’clock in the afternoon (that’s 16:00) at the Marienplatz in Munich, including some musical arrangements by Edition Maulwurf.
Guest horn players are very welcome to participate (free of charge).
